How to use garment measurements.
We list actual garment measurements, not just letters. Here is how to read them against a piece you already own.
Sizing letters tell you very little on their own. An M from one maker is an S from another, and a fluid dress cuts very differently from a tailored set. That is why every Lemon & Leaf piece lists its actual garment measurements — the measurements of the finished piece, taken flat — alongside the model's measurements and the size she is wearing.
Garment measurements are simple once you know the trick: they describe the clothes, not your body. A garment chest measurement of 92 cm means the finished piece measures 92 cm across, laid flat and doubled where needed — which usually fits a body measuring 4–10 cm less at that point, depending on how the piece is meant to sit.
The most reliable method takes five minutes. Choose a piece you already own and love the fit of — a dress, a set, whatever matches the piece you are reserving. Lay it flat, measure across the chest, underarm to underarm, and double it. Compare that number with the garment chest measurement listed on the product page. Repeat at the waist or hip if the piece is fitted there.
Then check the model notes. Every product page tells you the model's measurements and the size she wears, so you can see, for example, that a 94 cm bust wears the S in that particular cut.
If you are between sizes, or the piece is one you want to sit closely — a tailored set, for instance — message us on WhatsApp before you reserve. Assisted sizing is part of the service, not an afterthought. We would rather answer a question than process an exchange.
